Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia’s most extensive hill stations. It covers an area of 712 square kilometres. To the north, its boundary touches that of Kelantan; to the west, it shares part of its border with Perak. During the day, the temperature seldom soars above 25°C; at night, it is the opposite: the temperature can sometimes drop to as low as 12°C ( Source:Wikipedia). Happening at the peak, I got the chance to talk and photograph a humble farmer named, Mr.P. Lachumannan. (11 photos total)

Mr.P. Lachumannan giving me a special pose with his farm as a background.

Located at one of the corners at Cameron Highlands, customers always stop by to buy fresh vegetables from his stall. Lachumannan packing goods for his customer.

Dog being chased away by the worker as  it tried to sneak into the farm.

All of his cabbages have been picked for selling. Soon he will plant new seeds, which will take 3 months to grow full cabbage.

Lachumannan uses animal-based fertilizer for his vegetables. Left overs being dumped into a basket.

One of his worker poses for the camera as he installs a big plastic bag on top of the soil for re-production purposes. Lachumannan has 3 workers who helps him daily on the farm.

During weekends and peak seasons, his wife, Selvi helps him to manage the stall. Selvi explaining to their customers about their products.

Most of the vegetables have been sold out by dawn. Lachumannan’s stall sells cabbages, eggplants, pumpkins and many more. They are cheap and fresh.

One of his friend, who owns a strawberry farm, dropped by during the day to meet him. Strawberry is one of the main products produced in Cameron Highlands.

Selecting the perfect cabbages to be sold to his customers. Lachumannan putting cabbages into basket to be washed before selling.

Instead of buying cabbages readily on the table, you can pick & cut your own cabbage. Lachumannan picking fresh cabbages to be delivered to his customer.
